GWM's Brazilian Plant Triples Workforce and Aims for 32,000 Vehicles by 2026
A year after opening its first factory in the Americas, GWM's Iracemápolis plant has tripled its workforce and plans to ramp up production from 15,000 to 32,000 vehicles by 2026, strengthening its supply chain and local manufacturing capabilities.

GWM has marked a significant milestone in its global expansion strategy with the first anniversary of its inaugural factory in the Americas. Located in Iracemápolis, Brazil, the plant has rapidly scaled operations, tripling its workforce and setting ambitious production targets for the coming years.
## Rapid Expansion and Local Manufacturing
Since its inauguration in August 2025, the Iracemápolis plant has evolved into a fully operational automotive manufacturing hub. Initially employing around 600 workers, the facility now boasts over 1,800 employees, reflecting its rapid growth. The plant is a cornerstone of GWM’s R$10 billion investment plan in Brazil over a decade, aimed at bolstering local production and supply chains.
Designed to operate under the *Part by Part* system, the factory gradually increases the national content of its vehicles while fostering local supplier development. This approach not only strengthens GWM’s presence in Brazil but also positions the company for broader expansion across Latin America.
## Production Lines and Quality Control
The plant currently manufactures GWM’s hybrid Haval H6 Flex lineup (including HEV, PHEV19, PHEV35, and GT variants), the Poer P30 mid-size pickup, and the Haval H9. Production involves advanced robotics for body welding, ensuring precision and consistency. Vehicles then proceed through a fully automated painting process, including surface treatment, electrocoating (E-coat), primer, base, and clear coat applications.
After final assembly, every vehicle undergoes rigorous individual testing and quality inspections before being dispatched to dealerships. This meticulous process underscores GWM’s commitment to delivering high-quality products to the market.
## Ambitious Production Goals
From January to August 2026, the plant has already produced over 15,000 vehicles, with projections to reach 32,000 units by year-end. This surge in output aligns with GWM’s strategy to meet growing domestic demand while solidifying its manufacturing footprint in Brazil.
