1963 Meyers Manx Dune Buggy
The green and white kit car sold for $42,560. It was built on a Beetle chassis and features a 1776cc/80hp VW flat-four, four-speed gearbox, and Baja Pro tires. The vehicle was offered by the Meyers Manx Heritage Collection and is in very good condition, with only minor dings on the floor pan and some paint wear on the header pipe. Although the price is high for a Beetle-based kit car, it sits at the lower end of recent sales for original examples.
1995 Mercedes-Benz E60 AMG Limited
This silver-metallic sedan fetched $313,000. The car is a 5956cc/381hp V-8, automatic, and features a sunroof, cassette player, and AMG Aero III wheels. It is one of only 62 E60 AMGs built and one of two finished at AMG Japan. The interior shows some leather wear, but the paint remains largely original. The jet-powered car sold for $67,200. It is powered by a 6930hp General Electric J-47-19 turbojet and features a 14-inch Halibrand disc brake system. The car reached 359.7 mph at Bonneville in 1962 and 1963 but never broke the land speed record. The vehicle is not in running condition and is likely to remain a display piece.
