Leapmotor B03 Electric Hatchback Confirmed for UK Launch in 2027
The Leapmotor B03 electric hatchback will arrive in the UK from early 2027, featuring a 53kWh LFP battery and a 242-mile WLTP range.

Leapmotor has announced the B03 electric hatchback will arrive in the UK from early 2027. The car offers 194 cv of power and accelerates from 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds, matching the performance of a Fiat Pulse Abarth.
Key specifications and features
The B03 is built on Leapmotor’s Cell-to-Chassis 2.0 Plus architecture, which integrates a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery into the chassis. This setup provides a claimed WLTP range of up to 242 miles (389 km).
Standard equipment is comprehensive. It includes 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, LED lighting, and heated, electrically folding door mirrors. Inside, drivers get an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen powered by a Snapdragon 8155 chip, capable of displaying two apps at once. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a heat pump, ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera are also standard.
The B03 supports DC rapid charging at up to 133kW. Using this, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes, or from 30% to 80% in 16 minutes. A full charge using a 7.4kW AC wallbox takes approximately seven hours and 15 minutes.

Design, practicality and technology
With a length of 4.17 metres and a wheelbase of 2.60 metres, the B03 is positioned between the brand’s smaller T03 and the B03X crossover. Boot capacity is 405 litres, with an additional 90-litre waterproof compartment under the false floor.
The interior is designed for flexibility. The front passenger seat can fold completely flat, and the rear seat base can be lifted via the LeapFlex system to provide 57 cm of vertical height for cargo. The car also features specific modes for convenience, including a Camping mode that automatically closes the windows if it rains and a Guard mode that keeps the air conditioning running temporarily when a pet is left inside.
Safety and driver assistance are handled by 14 sensors and cameras, enabling 21 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The chassis architecture is said to increase torsional rigidity and crash safety while freeing up legroom for rear passengers.
Market positioning and pricing context
The B03 is the second model on Leapmotor’s Compact Electric Platform and is positioned as a rival to the Volkswagen ID.3 and Renault 5. To maintain competitive pricing in Europe, the model omits the LiDar radar system available in other markets. The expected price in Europe is around €25,000.
In China, the same model is sold as the Leapmotor A05S for less than €7,500 and includes a full driver assistance package that is not present in the European version. The related B03X crossover is scheduled for launch in Brazil.
Performance and driving experience
The B03 offers three driving modes: Comfort, Standard, and Sport. Its acceleration to 62 mph in 7.6 seconds is aided by a relatively light 60 kg electric motor that uses an oil-cooling system. The suspension setup consists of a front McPherson strut and a rear torsion beam axle.
The car will be offered in a single, well-equipped trim level in the UK.
