The Honda City 2027 is now arriving in Brazil with visual updates and an unchanged powertrain. This fifth-generation model, originally launched in 2022 and restyled in 2025, receives its latest refresh after the changes were presented in India and implemented at Honda's Itirapina production line.

The update brings full-LED headlights with a split daytime running light design to all versions, a significant upgrade as previously only the Touring trim had them. The front fascia is revised with new bumpers and a black gloss honeycomb grille. Top Touring and new RS versions gain an illuminated light bar connecting the headlights, a first for a Honda model in Brazil. The brand's logo is now a 2D design with a black background. The giant chrome eyebrow on the front is gone, replaced by a cleaner look where the upper bumper appears as an extension of the hood.

Design changes differ between the sedan and hatchback bodies. The sedan's central air intake has a negative angle, while the hatch's is wider and upward-facing. At the rear, the sedan gets a new sportier bumper with black elements, while the hatchback's rear is largely unchanged except on the RS variant, which adds a central lower applique and a chrome exhaust tip. All versions except the base LX now share the same 16-inch alloy wheel design, with finishes varying by trim.

Interior and equipment updates

Inside, the cabin sees material and tech revisions. Fabric seats are standard on LX and EX trims, with synthetic material used for higher grades. The Touring sedan offers optional white upholstery with specific pearl white, metallic gray, or metallic blue exterior colors, while the hatchback interior is always black. A new shiny black 3D-effect strip runs across the middle of the dashboard.

The major equipment update is a new 10-inch multimedia screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for Touring and RS versions. This system introduces gesture control, allowing drivers to adjust volume or change tracks with a two-finger swipe. Lower LX, EX, and EXL trims retain the existing 8-inch screen with wired smartphone connectivity. The base City LX comes with an analog instrument cluster, a conventional parking brake, and hill start assist.

Pricing and version structure

The 2027 model year introduces a revised lineup with four sedan and five hatchback versions, including the new RS hatch. Pricing sees a modest increase for the entry-level models, with more significant rises planned. The base LX versions for both body styles received a R$200 increase. After an initial promotional lot ends, all other non-LX versions are set to increase by R$1,100. The sedan carries a R$1,000 premium over its equivalent hatchback counterpart.

EXLHatch144,800
EXLSedan145,800

Standard features on the City LX include manual air conditioning, a key-based engine start, a rearview camera, LED lighting, the 8-inch multimedia system, four speakers, two front USB-A ports, a height and depth adjustable steering wheel, six airbags, and a tire pressure alert. From the EX version upward, the car features disc brakes on all four wheels; the LX makes do with rear drum brakes.

Powertrain and mechanical carryover

Despite the comprehensive visual refresh, the mechanical package is a direct carryover. It is paired exclusively with a CVT automatic transmission. The suspension setup remains a MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear configuration.

Honda's official fuel consumption figures, as certified by Inmetro, are 9.1 km/l in the city and 10.8 km/l on the highway with ethanol. The company clarified the nature of the new RS variant, with a spokesperson stating, "as versões RS na Honda significam apenas visual esportivo, sem nenhum tipo de modificação mecânica." This confirms the RS is a styling package without performance enhancements. Honda began pre-sales for the 2027 City on October 3. After the promotional lot ends, all non-LX versions will increase by R$1,100.
