Coyote-V8-Swapped 1957 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud

A 1957 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud has been transformed into a high-performance sleeper by swapping its original inline-six for a Gen-1 Ford Coyote V8. The builder fabricated a new steel box-section chassis, mounted the classic body, and installed adjustable coilovers at all four corners.

Engine and Power

The heart of the conversion is a 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8 that produces 420 bhp and 390 lb-ft of torque in stock trim. The engine features a custom aluminum cold-air intake, four-into-one headers, a dual MagnaFlow exhaust, and Digipower cutouts. Power is transmitted through a Ford 6R80 6-speed automatic to a Quick Performance rear end.

Brakes and Suspension

To handle the increased output, the car now rides on Wilwood disc brakes with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers. The suspension has been completely rebuilt: independent front suspension with Mustang II-style coilovers, a four-link rear with a Panhard rod, and adjustable coilovers at all four corners. The steering is a Flaming River power rack-and-pinion system, and the wheels are forged 18-inch US Mags with Nitto NT555 G2 tires.

Interior and Electronics

Inside, the right-hand-drive cabin retains the original gray leather and burl woodwork but has been updated with Vintage Air climate control, a push-button ignition, a drive-by-wire throttle, Classic Instruments gauges, and Pioneer speakers. The cabin also features replacement blue carpeting and a custom Rolls-Royce-branded front skidplate.

History and Provenance

The Silver Cloud was produced at the Crewe factory from 1955 to 1966 and was the last mainstream Rolls-Royce built on a separate chassis. The original 1957 model was powered by a 4.9-liter inline-six and could reach a top speed of 106 mph. The build notes that the car was purchased by its current owner in 2019 and has since covered 482 miles.

The vehicle is listed for sale out of Houston, Texas, and comes with a Spirit of Ecstasy mascot and a Texas title.
